Most of these paintings are based on small scale collages made up of images extracted from a variety of sources: photographs taken of the patterns and forms of urban architecture; diagrams and photographs from newspapers; sketches; tracings; doodles and scraps of paintings from around the studio. Combining these elements together allows for the creation of visual surprises, whilst also representing an abstracted slice of the sensual richness that I experience whilst travelling through the city
