The triptych is well understood in the context of religious iconography and imitated by contemporary artists such as Francis Bacon and Gilbert and George. In this work I have taken the classical triptych as my starting point. I have worked the image both photographically and by hand to embellish it to encourage the viewer to feel and experience rather than simply to see.
