Cally Trench
These large acrylic paintings are landscapes of places known from childhood. They are painted from memory, padded out by imagination. The suburban scenes of streets, houses, back gardens, parks and wasteland are seen from above, reflecting the distanced viewpoint of old memories and the way children look down on the worlds they create and play with. Artists-like children-behave like creator gods.
