I am currently investigating ideas of division, separation and dislocation in relation to the experience of the exile. I left Northern Ireland many years ago and have lived in and around London since then. My work takes the form of landscape painting &endash; but these are not easily recognisable places. The places portrayed are distorted, fractured and imaginary. My process is to make pencil drawings using memories of places or stories from my childhood in Ireland. I transfer these drawings onto computer and then make paintings from the computer drawings. By using this method the paintings have the separated and dislocated quality that I seek.
