Adebola Oni

I explore, through sculpture, how women can be trapped by the mechanism of the societal gaze, and in turn their own creation of armour. I believe that this sense of being watched is further enhanced through the media and entertainment industries, which display female images as parts. I also examine the myth of the security of the domestic sphere and attempt to expose the danger that women face by being attached to their "safe place".
