I am primarily interested in the portrait, and its many guises. Currently I am focussing on documenting not merely the face of the sitter but portraying their presence and personality through their surroundings, belongings and the way in which they relate to their environment. I am fascinated by exposing the sometimes obviously ordinary objects as possessions of utmost importance, transforming them into the subtly extraordinary. I work to document the meaningful and carefully portray the person, in often difficult contexts.
